WASN'T LOOKING TO RACE MY X5 BUT I GOT SMOKED BY THIS FX35
 

AS SOON AS I GOT INTO 2ND HE WALKED AWAY... SUCKED EVEN THOUGH I WONT TAKE A FX over MY X5...

YOU STILL HAVE YOUR CAPS LOCKS KEY STUCK ON...
AND SORRY, YOU WEREN'T THE FIRST WHITE X5 WITH SADDLE BROWN IN THE U.S. THERE WAS ONE PRODUCED IN OCT 2007 FOR ANOTHER BUYER... IT WAS IN THE SYSTEM WHEN I ORDERED MY CAR.

I had an fx45 for a couple of yrs. it was FAST! way faster then the e53 I had prior to the fx. I dont want to get into reliability vs ugliness factor though :) there is a lot to say there.

i had a race with a programmed fx35 .. 2006 and i won ...

i havnt tried the with 3nd generation though...

I ordered mine in OCT 07!! If you can prove me wrong that im not the first saddle brown x5 in the USA so be it... i know the people overseas had it first but im talking about in USA

I wouldn't doubt it, the FX are lighter then our X5s with similar amounts of power. The 45 I had was quick... maybe even quicker than the 4.8 below 60mph.

The new FX is quite a nice car, and I was going to get one, but they were leasing quite high. Speed wise, the 2009 FX35 has plenty of power, and could probably have beat my V8 powered ML500. The FX50 is ferocious.

I still don't understand why people care about these things.......:dunno:

I actually prefer to keep the performance capabilities of our cars to myself. I really don't want others to see me accelerating hard or cornering ridiculously fast.

Ur dreaming ! I used to have a 630i not the twin trubo 635i :p And I used to kill all the infiniti's including the FX and the g's :rofl: AND Nissan z's , Altima r or what ever they call it :rolleyes:

I think the old FX 35's were in the low 7's 0-60 (probably similar to an e53 4.4), but the new ones are quite faster in the low 6's 0-60. I could be wrong, but the 09 FX 35's should be on par with the X5 4.8's. They eat up gas just about as bad too and they are only 6 cylinders.

Either way, they can't outrun ugly.

what a piece. Fidgety as hell, impossible to see out of, vomit orange interior and the damn radar cruise control doesn't work to save its life and sets off the V1.

B'fest member osarda in South California was the first with saddle brown E70 X5 in US to my knowledge.....delivered early September 2007 at South bay BMW. See detailed post with pics here.

FX is faster no doubt, but if we were looking for 0-60 times we would have bought 335's. Race the FX through a clover leaf at 50mph, see who wins and who is flipped over in the ditch.

GTR=specialty market niche. Enough said.

yesterday i saw a race between altima 3.5 and x5 4.8i

the altima was ahead

whats the big deal about 0-60 in a Infiniti ????? you could go faster in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO or the Subaru WRX then any Infiniti out there..... but its still not a German .....

yes osarda did get first saddle brown but his x5 is space gray!

FX35 is more comparable with BMW X6 3.5I not with the 3.0 X5

The X6 has the same hp but bigger torque at lower rpm. X6 also does 0-60 mph faster than the FX35 although it's heavier.
X6= better fuel economy

In conclusion: If you were driving an X6 or X5 with the TT 3.5I engine you
wouldn't be smoked by an Infiniti.
It's a shame that BMW doesn't offer the 3.5I engine on the X5.

I knew this is going to get ugly fast.... to throw some fuel into the fire.. my fx45 knew that Brooklyn is Kings county (not Richmond like the X) it also knew that u can get from point A to point b which is up the road and to the left by going up the road... and to the left. The X made me get on the high way... figure 8 u turn, get off, go up the same road I was on and make a right.... interesting

Then I realized that you were comparing navigation systems (I think?). That's quite a leap...

Japanese cars seem to have better navigation systems, back-up cameras and so on, but who really cares? Those are minor details, IMO.

I cared last weekend when I was trying to find my way around a place I have never been to before at night with no one around to ask. on a scale of 1-10 the nav on the X gets a -33

To put things in perspective.. I might be the only guy on the forums who is NOT in love with the X and not afraid to point out its cons.

I'm impressed, Wikipedia says that the 2nd gen FX35 (0-60 = 6.1 secs) and the new FX50 (0-60 = 5.0 secs)...if true that blows my mind that a new FX50 would give a new M3 a run for the money in a straight line...but who really cares. I can tell you that if I pulled up to a red light in my modded X and an FX50 was next to me I don't think too many people would notice the FX.

I test drove the FX35 and FX50, and they are both very nice cars. Very comfortable, competent handling, nice looking IMO, and the engines are quite good with a nice throaty growl. No real need to hate on them. And yes, the navigation system and other like electronics in the FX are so superior it isn't even fair.

FX50's 0-60 figure is 5.6 seconds, not 5.0 seconds. It would match the straight line performance of the ML550.

IMO, FX's exhaust sound has too much artificial, forceful quality to it...And it gets tiring to hear it after a while. I think Infiniti tried to make it sound something like Porsche but what they ended up with isn't entirely pleasing to hear.

I used to drive a 2004 FX 35, test drove the new FX 35, X6 35i and I wind up buying the X 5 4.8.

The FX as pointed out earlier is more comparable with X6. The X5 is not on par when it comes to speed, which should come as no surprise.

I like my X5 a lot, but let's not kid ourselves, there are plenty room for improvement: Rear view camera, Navigation, reliability.

Again I am happy with X5, but would have been as happy with new FX50. The main issue for me was the new design. Some like it some don't... I don't!

considering the price difference, its unfair for buyers to get poor quality items when they are clearly paying at least 10k more!
