I did 20% all around, Nice and dark in the back, perfect in the front.

I feel naked when I drive any car without tints now. You really get used to it being nice and dark inside.

It depends on the state that you reside in.

In CA, you cannot have any tint on the front windows at all but people do it anyway.

I did 5% rear and 15% front. Lots of privacy and the sun barely gets in. It helps when the temp reaches triple digits in the summer and you have kids in the back.

I'm reading that NY and a few other states require 70%. If so, that's very light compared to the 35% projected to be the "sweet spot" in tints. Is it even worth doing for 70%? Anyone else in NY have theirs done?

What's the factory tint % at if any?

I just did Huper Optik 30% on the back, 40% front doors, 60% winshield here in CA. The 30% over privacy glass looks pretty good, nice dark/black.

I just got off the phone with a reputable guy in Manhattan (who does celebs' cars) and he quoted me $475 to do all windows w/ Huper Optik. I think it's a pretty good deal but I'm still concerned about how weird it would look if by law the front windshield and 2 front doors require 70% while putting darker on the rears. I'm allowed to do anything else on the 2 rears and rear windows so seeing that 35% is a sweet-spot, I want to do that.

He said he could put a 45% on the fronts that don't appear to be any darker than the requirement to the naked eye, maybe I'll go closer to 60% like above, but that's much different than the 35% rears. What do you think of this? Anyone with pics?

I want it to look as uniform as possible throughout the vehicle.

BTW, I'm still curious what % it is from factory as it looks somewhat tinted already.

I wish I can tint it dark. NY, I think, don't allow dark. I'm thinking no inspection for awhile anyway. But just scared that I'll be pulled over for the front windows being tinted. Economy nowadays not good. might be another reason for traffic cop to give me a ticket.
