Welcome aboard. I think BMW got pretty much everything right except for the camera, which seems to be an afterthought. My 10yr old webcam was better than this crap of a camera, now if only I could replace the CCD.

And yes, the idrive bootup is the other issue. Camera sometimes comes on after I've already put it back into drive after reverse. Thanks for playing, idrive. I wonder if the new harddrive based system coming soon got rid of this problem.

Yes, but they seem to be delayed as well. I'm not sure if it is normal, but the thing keeps on beeping if I'm close even after I shift in to Park and apply the parking brake. The PDC/backup camera is a major disappointment. After having MB's Parktronic in two previous vehicles, I can say that it is superior to PDC.

it's even more ashamed when friends in the car while reversing..they always ask: wat the hell is that??
