Wheel spacers on factory 20" rims question
If I only get 10mm spacers for the factory 20" wheels (275/40/20, 315/35/20), can I use the same bolts or do I still need longer ones?
Thank you all in advance -Neil |
very small you wont notice the deffrence
my friend just installed H&R .... 50mm front and 70 rear ... i installed 50 mm front and 60 mm rear.. and you have to use both of them the bolts they provide and then ur bolts |
The spacers usually come with longer bolts.

Man this is a great forum.. I never expected such fast replies. Yeah, I know 10mm isn't much, but I'm still trying to make it look kind of factory. Maybe I will go for 15mm. The reason why I thought 10mm initially is because OEM 21" rims come with 275/315 mm tire widths (10mm wider than mine) and I notice a significant different.. or maybe I'm just biased b/c they are 21's??
Thanks again guys, Neil |

just make sure the tire/wheel doesnt extend past the wheel arch and you really cant go wrong. |
X5 lug bolts have 50mm of thread. With a 10mm spacer you will lose 20% of the thread and therefore 20% of the strength. It's probably within the margin of safety built into the design but you can decide for yourself if you want to drive around under those conditions.
