USB installation in 2007 X5 3.0D

Has anybody done the after market installation of the USB adapter to the E70 X5? Mine was delivered w/o the ordered feature and it was in "the too hard basket" to rectify at that stage.
Any hints /Tips ?:dunno:

Hello Hans,

I'm also asking my BMW-Dealer about to install a USB-Connection. But he said, it's impossible to do that :(. The only option that i had, is to install a 'iPod-Docking Station' :rolleyes: ...

I have a 3.0D E70 as well. Really would like to know how to install a USB connection as well.

not possible, I checked aswell. Cars from late 2007 onwards (forgot what the exact month was) can be equipped with an oem USB gate, but not the early ones. Mine is a few month too old aswell.
