Driver side floor mat never stays put!
My driver side floor mat keeps sliding all around the floorboard. It never stays in the correct position. Sometimes it slides forward covering part of the gas peddle (kind of dangerous). The mats are OEM, I never had this issue with any of my other cars, the mats always snapped into place or fitted securely to the floor board and never moved around. Anyone else encounter this problem and find a good solution? :dunno:

There should be a circular velcro pad that's part of the flooring that holds the mat in place. Works fine with my OEM mat (the one with the BMW logo at the heel of your foot). It is extremely dangerous to have a mat move around - don't take this issue lightly.

Same problem here.... Thinking of a velcro solution...

Why not switch to all weather mats? That's what I'm going to do when my car comes in.

your missing some parts.. there should be the velco plastic bit that gets inserted into the floor and then has the mating end facing up for your mat.
FYI - All weather mat does move a bit as well, although, can get in the way of depressing the accelerator (sometimes). |

Hey bigd,
I have the same prob with my oem carpet mat on drivers side. BTW I have an E53, sorry to see this issue not fixed on latest model. Be interested to see what an effective & permanent fix will be. Also agree it could be potentially dangerous moving around the pedals. |
The mats come with both sides of the velcro to keep them rock solid. Looks lile someone in your dealership simply can't be bothered fitting them!

As other folks have mention, the mats come with the two velcro pieces, a hard plastic thing with the hooks that screws into the floor (you might notice there are plastic tabs in the floor, that need to be removed and the plastic pieces screws in there) and the other softer piece is on the mats itself, which sticks to the plastic floor piece. If you bought the mats from the dealer, ask for the pieces and you should get them for free. The OEM all weather mats come with a hook contraption that screws to the floor, the hook then goes through the holes in the mat to hold it in place.
