Water in Rear fog light and tail light clusters

Hi Everyone,

I happened to be washing the tailgate with a hosepipe (no pressure attachment) and seem to have caused some water to go into the rear foglight/tail light cluster (both sides) - it is about an inch high in the cluster. Took out the rear cargo light plastic moulding to access the cluster - but I can't get to the water - any ideas?

Have a great Christmas & hope the snow storms subside,

Cheers,

It sounds like you may have the ever popular "grip strip" leak - you may also want to check if you have water in your license plate lights even though they are on the upper half of the rear door/window combination. I bet water entered your rear light assembly from a poor seal between the window and door gap. To get to the rear of your lights you can go through the rear cargo area access panels an remove them by removing three nuts - real easy. To get to the rear fogs/reverse lights you need to remove the rear door inner trim panel - just pops in - then the whole panel - several screws, then the insulation panel, then you can remove the light assembly by removing three nuts. They plug in and out easily. But keep an eye on your dash message board for "Check license light" - I'll bet there's water there too. Good luck
