Rear Hatch Open Warning
 

Well, I had to get an oil change, brake fluid flush, and an iPod adapter installed, so I mentioned to the service tech that I had the hatch open warning go off a few times. I just looked at the invoice and apparently this is a known problem There is an SIB on it : SIB 51 18 07

This has been a constant problem even with the E53. It's about time BMW did something about this! You would think this issue would be resolved with the new E70. Is your's an 07 or 08 model? I sure hope the 08 & newer with the auto tailgate doesn't have this problem.
