Well Gang...

After much research, soul searching and negotiating...my E70 has been ordered!!! Now the hard part...waiting...

2 Days ago I custom ordered a 3.0. Stupidly, I stopped on my way home from work yesterday and for sh-ts and giggles test drove a 3.0 and a 4.8 back-to-back.

My new order is as follows:

2009 E70 4.8:

Space Gray with Black Nevada and Burl Walnut

36 Months. 10k per year. $821 + Tax. Bank Fee, 1st month and Registration down.

Thoughts?

How do you feel about ordering the 3.0 especially after driving the 3.0 and 4.8 back to back?

Haven't you heard the saying, never stop by a BMW dealer and test drive, I have done it twice and ended up walking out poorer ;)

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the group :welcome:. Now just try to concentrate on your work, there are very unproductive wait days ahead ;)

I ordered the 4.8. I did not make that clear. My fault.

Minor tidbit, but I'm not a fan of the burl walnut trim, you sure that's what you want? You could get Aluminium if you want at no cost ;)

Did the same mistake here so do not feel lonely. Once I drove the 4.8, I had to have it. The V8 sound and power is addicting...;)

This will be my Third Straight car with it...used to it. I considered the Bamboo.

TOTALLY!!! I went to bed last night and could not get that ridiculous exhaust note out of my head. It changed everything for me.:thumbup:

LOL, my wife did the same! Went to buy a 325 came home with a 330 xi :)

Once you go V8, you won't go back!

That is why i refused to test drive the 4.8 when I bought my 3.0 because i knew that and wasn't ready to spend 10-15k more :)

It's crzy man...my 3.0 was ordered...and after I heard that exhaust note...it was all over...

Sounds like a good deal with first month payment to drive off. What is the MSRP and how much discount they gave you? Money factor and residual if you could share these information.

I do not think it will have it. That's not a huge deal to me. Would I like it? yes..

I negotiated that the dealership will make the final 3 payments on my current lease. The total of those payments come to 2418. Add that to your cap cost. (This makes your calculations a bit convoluted)

MSRP 70,720

Residual 59%

Payment comes to $892 per month, total.
Drive off comes to $2682, inclusive of Bank Fee, 1st month, and upfront payment of taxes, etc.

I then pay BMWFS $2418 directly to pay off existing lease.

(To make it simple...without the 3 payments inlcuded in the deal, it would come to $820 per month + tax and about $2400 out of pocket)

This thread is making me want the V8! Oh well, the 3.0 is working just fine for me.

I was also one that opted not to even test drive the 4.8 because I knew I'd want it and wasn't ready to spend that much...:dunno:

Stay away man...as soon as it starts and you hear the roar...your 3.0 days are finished.

I really want to hear the twin turbo gas engine in an X5, personally... is that supposed to sound nearly as nice? Any 335 or X6 xdrive35 owners want to chime in?

I've had an E90 330i and an E92 335i. I have test driven both the E70 3,0 and E70 4.8.

The exhuast note of the 4.8 blow the other 3 out of the water. After the droive the 4.8, I couldn't get that sound out of my head. It's what made me change the order.

The E92335 is a Distant second. The E70 3.0 was dead last and it'sot even close.
