bring in for service = free car wash?

Annual service call coming up quick... I have heard they give you a wash afterward... is this true everywhere? I don't want to waste my effort if this is still true.

My dealer gives mine a wash after every service unless it is very cold outside. Personally I don't like them washing my x5 because they do a horrible job.

yeah! its like if they blind fold while they pass the sponge of soap .. and dont dry with towels, just a blower.. leaves lots od dirty spots

My dealer offers a free wash, but frankly I never take them up on it as I'd rather wash it myself to avoid scratches and swirls.

I guess I'm not the only one that doesn't want them to wash it... when I request they not wash it, the service writer takes an 8 1/2 X 11 inch preprinted paper sign from his desk drawer that says "DO NOT WASH," in bold RED letters 3 inches high on yellow paper, and places it on the dash.

My local Ford dealer gives free car washes every Saturday if you bought your car from them.

...

:iagree: , with Penguin. I was offered a wash maybe 3 times back in the
oem warranty days. I passed on two, and the third was a hand wash;
I had seen the kid do others while I was waiting. Other than that, I
would pass, unless the OP normally does automatic car washes...then,
what the heck. Our old '01 jalopy has never been through a car wash.

Crevier offers free car wash for lifetime but never take it there. I prefer hand wash at home.

A lot of larger dealers just drive it thru an automatic car wash. Depends on how anal one is about the paint, but I always request that they not do so on the X3. I don't want any more swirl marks on it.

Your car is white. Take the wash

Sometimes I get it back and all they do is rearrange the dirt. :(

:iagree: and exactly what my dealer does when I tell them not to wash. Who wants to wash their X in their crappy wash and the cloths, brushes have dirt from other cars. That's how you get scratches and swirls.
