should've gotten parking sensors but...

at first i though i didnt need them but backing in and out in my underground garage (or anywhere) can be a pain. right now i have to do it super slowly. i guess with more practice i will get better. when backing out, the view from the rear window gives me the illusion that any small cars behind are closer than they actually are. in reality there's still 1 meter room left. so far i still need 2-3 corrections to get the car perfectly centered in the parking space. how about you fellow e70 veterans? you can do it in one shot i bet.

wait,, arn't the parking sensors standard?? If you mean back up camera with track lines?

I do manage to back into spaces in one shot with the back up camera and the track lines.

PDC is an option, at least in the U.S. It comes standard with the tech package. Or you can order it as a stand alone option, that's what I did.

PDC isn't really all that great for inching in since it gets to a solid tone (or red on screen) when you actually still have some space left. If you really want to inch, the camera is where it's at... assuming there's enough lighting.

I have driven an SUV for 14 years now and it didn't have a camera of course... now that I do have one, I realize how much safer (in terms of scratching your bumper) it is. I gung-ho'd many parallel parking jobs before. Blind faith, literally...

I have become so used to PDC that all I use is my mirrors and the PDC sensors when backing up. In fact driving a vehicle without PDC is such an effort to check over my shoulder, I get a kink in my neck!

I still turn my head. It's a habit I just can't break. :dunno: I grew up in Brooklyn, I know how to parallel park. I depend on my spot mirrors big time. Some of you say they are an eye sore but I can't live without them. They are great for seeing the curb or the lines in parking lots. I back into most spots...after searching the lot for the safest spot.

To the OP - you'll get used to it and be one shot pro in no time :)
