New Arrival!!!

She's home. Some photo's below. I am a TERRIBLE photographer with a bad camera so I apologize.

When I picked her up she only had 2 miles on the ODO, now she only has 6 miles on the ODO. I live in Manhattan, so not much time (or space) for a test drive. I am driving 30 miles to work tomorrow morning, so i'll have a good review then.

...And I still can't get over how good the deal was...

Here is a picture of the small screw I picked up in the 1 1/2 mile inaugural drive. I took it to a tired guy, who removed it and said "No damage done"...

Amazing...but I still can't stop smiling...

you have garage parking in NYC... not bad. Don't forget to fold those mirrors. ;)

Congrats!

NIIICE!! I see you didn't get the 20's. Do you plan on swapping out the wheels later or keep it rolling on the 19's? I guess you didn't want to wait it out for a few weeks for the possibility of the new I-drive?

You can update your sig now and remove 'on order...' ;) Looks good!

Thanks!!!

I'm riding on 19's at least until the end of the winter. I was riding a 335 with performance tires, and anything below 30 degrees was like skating. I'm going to have my first child in this truck...I want to keep it as safe as I can.

I may get a summer setup, we will see.

As far as the idrive...I don't mind the current one. It's my 3rd car with it. This deal I just couldn't pass up. It's the best deal ive ever negotiated on a car...not even close.

congrats and enjoy =)

More like several months. The new I drive wont arrive for quite some time.

golfer4life 01-27-2009 12:18 PM

Congrats on the new ride and your 1st born.

I have 2 kids (12 and 2) and they're the main reason why I'm on my 2nd X5.

Congrats. Boy, they really slap on the license plates pretty quick in NY. Here in TX you get a 30 day temporary paper tag.

yup, the same owner, can just transfer plate to your new car...

very good thing especially if you have a custom plate...

btw, congrats on your new X

do you have 3rd row seating? the reason i ask is me and my lovely wife are having our 3rd born august this year and im still torn between getting a mini van in addition to our E53 or trade in the E53 for E70 with 3rd row seats... :dunno:

We did not get it...as we are only expecting our first. However...if I were in your shoes, i'd get the 3rd rown seat...

I'd rather eat a steaming log of my own fecal matter than buy a minivan...

Yup they register for the plates before they call you in for delivery... my CA got all the necessary info for it a week before via phone, then at delivery he showed me the car and slapped the new plates on himself, screwdriver in hand. I wonder if that's part of the training. ;) It was the real registration sticker that I had to wait a month for.

How old are your other kids ? You need to realize that with the 3rd seats up (even just one of them), you will not have much space to put in a stroller or anything else which goes along with a newborn. Practical advise - get a minivan. Honda makes excellent one which has very good steering - believe me, I owned one before the X...
