E70 Heated Steering Wheel Swap
 

Hey All,

Long time lurker...1st time posting. I think this may have been touched on before, but I can't seem to find any definite answers (some say yes, others no)...
Anyway, I recently purchased a used '08 3.0si with the sport package (GREAT vehicle) and I was wondering if anyone knows (or has experience with) if the steering wheel can be swapped out for the heated version of the sport steering wheel? If so, is it "plug and play" for the heating function to work? Any thoughts would be great...

Yes it can be done, but if it's anything like the E53, it's not just plug and play. I have a detailed writeup in the article section on the E53. From what I recall, I had to take out the glovebox and get to the fusepanel behind the dash to install a new relay. I would expect the E70 to be the same procedure.
