I did do my reaserch and according to the teamsters in transportation I spoke with. all diesel is the same. It was mandated by law that they make and use low sulfer Diesel Kind of like when they got rid of leaded fuel. ALSO I GOT ABOUT 28MPG. AT THESE GAS STATIONS!!!

wow, so there was urine everywhere? damn my gas model 30i only gets 20mpg, mostly hwy.

Well, if you are in California it makes sense that the California Air Resources Board mandates fuel quality, but there are a lot of posters on this site who aren't in California. Regulations differ by geography.

Also, within California, the sulphur content and total aromatic hydrocarbons are regulated, but I am not so sure about the cetane number, and the minimum acceptable cetane is a BMW specified figure. I am pretty sure that fuel lubricity is not specified either.
