OEM Apple IPhone 3G Adapter

Includes the "Eject Box " for installation into the E70 X5 & E71 X6. - Vehicle must have BMW Assit (SA639) with Bluetooth wireless technology

BMW is pleased to announce a snap in adapter for the Apple iPhone 3G. This adapter is for vehicles equipped with the BMW Assist system with Bluetooth wireless technology. The system provides a safe and secure place to dock your Apple iPhone 3G while driving and will charge your phone battery when the vehicle is running. The adapter also provides a connection to the roof mounted telephone antenna on your car for improved cellular reception.

Included is the Eject Box adapter which must be used in conjunction with the adapter to install into the center console. The eject box provides the mounting point and electrical connections for the phone adapter.

Does it come with installation manual?

Fastbuck 07-14-2009 02:43 AM

it's a 2 second click in place activity. it.s in the owner's manual already anyway.

Thanks again for the orders everyone and let us know if you have any questions!

I heard the 2G adapter works really well with the 4G iPhone. Are those still available?

@ECS. Your picture is an eject box -- not the snap-in adapter. I know your ad says both.

@Fastbuck. It's not a "2 second click" activity UNLESS one already has the frame installed. My X5 did not come with the frame, eject box and snap-in adapter. I spent a couple of hundred dollars for the parts and hours trying to install it (without removing the center console).

Now I have an iPhone 4 and, while I spent time modifying (i.e. grinding down) my 3G snap-in adapter to fit the iPhone 4, I haven't snapped in my iPhone for about 4 months now. There's just no need for this...

Anyone know if the 3G adapter would fit the first gen iPhone?
I have an old one I'd like to keep in the car but don't want to tie up the USB.

Very unlikely. All the adapters are made to only fit a particular model.
