Hi Poinds,

I did finally make a decision and purchase an 09 X5 4.8 last Friday here in Dallas.

-Black Sapphire
-20's with 214's (as most on the forum have commented - these look great)
-Almost Fully loaded - actually more than I really needed. (did not have Cold weather or Heads Up).

Invoice was about 67K and 68K on the 09's I had looked at that were in inventory...and I paid less than 1000 over invoice.

In the end I had talked to Autobahn, Moritz and Classic and had good conversations and great service from all 3. I really pushed to get something done at Classic since they are few blocks from my house and eventually worked out a great deal there and took delivery the next day.

This thing is still costing me money however:p:

Yesterday my wife hired a company to remodel the garage so it does justice to her car and the new X5:dunno:

Thanks

That's awesome! Congrats! You'll have to post up some pics as soon as you can. I noticed that you didn't mention BMW of Dallas, whom I wouldn't even bother with. Did you get financing with BMW or somewhere else?

Like I've said before, I'm not really a speed guy, so a 3.0si or a 35d would serve me fine. Have fun with the 4.8i and keep us up to date on the driving experiences.

Actually the 35d is more powerful than the 4.8i in combined HP/torque.
And speed is about the same, the 4.8i is 0.5 sec faster from 0-60.
In city driving the torque is more important to get going faster.

I didn't realize just good the diesel is. I've been reading a lot of reviews on the diesel and so far they've all been pretty positive. I haven't had a chance to test drive the 35d but is it fairly quiet on the inside at idle? I could care less if it has that diesel sound on the outside so long as it's not like the Power Stroke diesel sounds on the Ford F-Series.

The only bad thing I've read so far is an exploded urea line on someone's 35d. I've test driven the ML320 Bluetec and I love the torque feel on the low-end. I'm just wondering if and when buying an '09 35d will pay itself off over a CPO '08 3.0si that's similarly loaded?

I agree with BGM. Just got my '09 in November and bid it out to 5 dealerships in Southern Cal. I got the car for $200 over invoice which was almost a $5000 savings off MSRP. I was fortunate on timing (economic meltdown) and the Port of LA having several thousand BMWs sitting in it, but bidding it out and letting the other dealers know worked for me.
