Removing Side Mirror Glass

1 Attachment(s)
Can anyone confirm how to remove the "Side mirror glass"? My wife broke the part #3 in the pic below and I need to remove the mirror glass to be able to remove the old broken part. Before I break any plastic clips (as I assume the mirror glass is held by), can anyone confirm how to remove it?

Many thanks,
Armand

I recently broke the black plastic rim during reversing in my garage. It's a seperate piece . Had it fixed via BMW body shop for 64 bucks.(parts plus labor)

I know the black plastic rim (part #3 in the pic) is a separate piece. That's exactly how my wife broke it also - backing up from the garage. The question as stated above is "How to remove the side mirror glass?". I.e. - does it just pop off? Is it glued? Is there a certain corner that you should start off with to pop it off? Etc...

Does anyone have the following instructions on how to take the mirror apart for the E70? I found below from searching.

Send me a P.M. with your email address and I will forward you the .pdf instruction files. I wasn't able to attach them here for some reason...
