Does Active Steering boost assist to make the weight at the wheel feel lighter at low speeds?

I can't say I notice it feeling lighter as such, just really easy to turn the wheels without having to turn the steering wheel very far

once you drive it around for a good bit (10 minutes or so), the steering feel gets lighter. short trips will keep it feeling like you are wrestling a bear. Once I got past 5000km, steering feels became looser and now it's perfect- not too tough but just smooth and accurate. i love it.

I used to think that the steering might stay really tough and was contemplating active steering- but now, no regrets whatsoever. I love the steering feel and I would not change a thing. Still a bit rough first thing in the morning but by the time i get to the destination, oh man I don't want to get out!

Yes, Active Steering includes Servotronic, which varies assist by vehicle speed, rather than engine revs. There will be lighter steering at lower speeds, and heavier steering at higher speeds.

However, the biggest aspect of Active Steering is the fact it actually alters the steering ratio based on vehicle speed. Essentially, a 90° turn of the steering wheel at 20km/h will yield a greater wheel angle than the same 90° turn at 120km/h.

The combination of the two makes for the best of both worlds: At low speeds, the steering is light and quick. At moderate to higher speeds, the steering firms up considerably and the steering response is slower for greater directional stability.

yes, i have regular sports pkg setup for Canadian models without active steering

at first i thought the steering was very heavy at ant crawl speeds (no active steer). now i barely notice it.
