Adding OEM rearview camera
 

Hey guys,
Im new to the forum. I just bought a privately owned 2007 BMW X5 (E70) 3.0si yayy. This is my upgrade from a infiniti g35 coupe.

I wanted to add a rearview camera to my SUV. Has anyone done this? is it hard? I called the dealer and they said the parts alone will cost $715 and labor to run close to $1200. Any way to avoid these rediculous costs?

Any help would be great.

hi fellow LI'der... you don't want the OEM camera, especially at that price... the quality is underwhelming half the time (aka nighttime). Wait for a 3rd party solution... I'm sure a lot of people would love if it came...

let me know if you come accross something worthwhile.. btw, i never really liked the x5 in white, but your car is REALLY nice..

OP, with that kind of $$$ you can perhaps install a better 3rd party wireless cam under the rear spoiler for a stealthy install, and suction cup the lcd screen on the windshield.
