wow even the headlights are bullet proof!!!

Interesting videos though honestly not terribly impressive, basically just bulletproofing as long as the shooters abide by the gun caliber you're okay. Also must be fun to try to drive when the windows look basically whited out.

The dumbest thing is that even though the X5 is built in the USA, you can't buy one for the USA (couldn't buy an E53 model either).

There is a Mercedes security vehicle that is far more impressive with a self-contained air supply, bomb proofing, dual caliper brakes, etc. Check out:

I watched the Benz video and it seemed more dolled up production wise, you can tell it was a well planned scripted film, were the BMW seemed more like they were taping while testing, (I still like the BMW one better seems more real)

and yes they aren't really tanks you wouldn't take them into a fire fight knowingly, but thats not really there purpose, it basically a last level of defense for yourself or family until help arrives or you quickly drive away, I bet the majority of them are totalled after they save the lives of the people inside

Production values of videos aside, I think the Mercedes would do a better job than the X5 at actual protection, that's all. Which honestly is a little surprising b/c you'd think an SUV would be setup as MORE secure then a sedan, not less. Then again...

Interesting. This was your car as being built by BMW? How were you allowed to take photos as even in regular production facilities cameras are strictly forbidden?
