How do you replace a broken fog light assembly?
[FONT='Times New Roman','serif']Have an '08 E70, road flack broke the driver fog lamp lens and lamp, fog lights are directional linked to turning right or left. Will the lens pop out with a bit more work or does the bumper need to be removed? Where do you recommend going for replacement lamp/lens assemblies?

I think the link below is for a bulb replacement for the fog light, but i guess it might be helpful...

ooops this is for my fog lights since we were on the subject....sorry

I ordered the assembly from the dealer and after looking at the computer image of the fog light assembly I will be able to access the screws holding the assembly with the help of the above link. I will let you know after the light comes in next week if I was successful.

Did you figure it out? I'm just trying to replace the bulb on the right side but can't get my hand in behind it - I think I may have to pop out the assembly? thanks

Saw you other post, no you don't need to take out the whole assembly. Just follow the steps in the link above, wriggle your hand a bit, if your hands are big ask your girlfriend/wife if you can trust her ;) |
The above link is all you need, with the addition of small hands to change the bulb. Be careful not to touch the bulb with you fingers or get any oils or grease on the surface.
To change the complete light bulb/lense assembly you need to use the link above and then remove (2) torx head screws with a 1/4" drive socket and a little finesse, I replaced the unit fairly quick. |
