Update Messed With My Mirrors??

Took the X5 in yesterday for its first service, and mentioned the jerky acceleration. A software update was offered that would "significantly" improve the gearchange. While I don't like people messing with my car, I figured they couldn't make it any worse!

Only when I picked it up today, the self darkening rear veiw mirrors were all screwed up! Big blue patch at the top and a bigger yellow patch at the bottom. At first the service adviser denied all knowledge of it, but on checking with someone who obviously knew more, told me it was not uncommon when upgrading the software.

Can this be right? I mean, how can an update fry my mirrors?

They have offered to replace the glass if they don't come good, and they certainly have improved in the last 12 hours, but I just can't see the connection. Has anyone else had this happen? Will they return to normal?

Oh, and for the second time, they didn't shut the bonnet properly!

Cheers, Maddog.

I have had several update and have never had this problem. Smells fishy to me.

Today my dealer update the software
But i am not sure which part was updated.
Is there different updates - for engine, gearbox, navi?
Or the update changing all software of the car?
Because nothing of my setting in audio section was changed

When they update the software all updates are applied. They cannot update 1 particular module, at least that is what the dealer told me.
