Removing kidney grille
how do you remove it? im planning to plasti-dip the chrome

every kidney grill i have ever removed involved a tire wall.:rofl:
they typically have tabs that hold them in. open the hood and push them out i would guess. it's two pieces BTW. |
oh i guess they are simple to remove unlike my 135i.. man you need tool to remove it.

Have you done this before on plastic chrome? I've used Plasti-dip before, and I'm not sure how that would work on chrome grills. I would think bugs and such would be hard on it. Please post how it turns out, and how you prepared the surface/applied the plasti-dip as I'd be interested in details. |
i think i would be interested in diong this as well... i have painted my chrome kidneys black but its starting to chip already... and i have another set so i want to do a better job and re-install.

I recently went back and plasti-dipped the front kidneys after I had painted them flat black. There were tons of chips. I just sprayed the plasti-dip over the paint and no problems so far. I did however scuff up the chrome before painting.....
