Front hood
Anyone noticed on their car that the driver side front hood when closed have more play then the passenger side front hood? Try pushing on the front of the hood on either side right below the kidney - corners of the bottom of the hood before it meets the front bumper.

Yes I noticed this on my 3.0 SD and thought it was something that just needs a little adjustment and was going to mention it to the dealer on the next visit
Bozz. |
I really wonder what you were doing when you noticed this... :dunno:
:D |
I haven't looked closely at the X5, but most vehicles have two adjustable rubber bumpers, located near the corners of the hood, on the fixed frame/radiator crossmember, to align this. Typically they are threaded and adjusted by rotating them, sometimes having a locknut which must be loosened first. Should be an easy adjustment for the dealer next time you bring it in.

I don't see any in front. The adjustment seems to need to come from the front of the radiators rather then the top if that makes sense.
I'd noticed this when I was putting the hood down after dryiing the car lol. |
Found the adjusters. There are two adjuster on the front of the hood near the grills. I justed it out and now the hood is good to go.
|
How do these adjusters look like and how do you play with it to get it even?

Look behind the grills of the front hood. They are on the corners on the hood itself.
