Google maps to iDrive
 

anyone here having problem receiving data on their iDrive? mine before works perfectly and now sending 2 commercial addresses and no receive on the iDrive.

anyone else here having same issues?

No ... and infact I'm amazed how quick the system works from sending the address from the google maps and them being received by the car. Works great.

I just wish google would update google maps on the iphone to allow the address to be sent to the car. Now that would be awesome, and allow you to completely avoid having to try and find a POI using idrive.

How do you send a google maps direction to the iDrive? Is this only available on the 09's, I have an 08

Yes, unfortunately, we're out of luck. It's available in "2008 X6 produced 4/08 or later or any 2009 BMW Assist-equipped BMW (except Z4 and X3)".

damn i called bmw assist and they cant find anything wrong with my account. they advise me to rake it to the dealer and speak with SA..

So apw2607 you can do it? Do you have an X5 or X6?

Ahh, those were the days - Google maps to the car. The F01 has Google maps IN the car! :stickpoke

But I do have BMW Assist in my car, I believe you should also because you have the technology pkg. I guess need to explore those features a bit more, I haven't really looked into the BMW assist features.

I have an X5 .. but its a 2009 ... so get "My Info" or send addresses from google maps to the car.

I may have misled you. Its the address that gets sent to the car, rather than the "directions". Still good though.
