Anyone retrofit spare wheel?

I have the E70 X5 with run flats and no spare wheel.
When I put on the winter wheels later this year I will need a spare wheel.
I believe it is possible to buy the spare wheel kit but does it simply go in the storage area under the luguage compartment floor or does that storage are also have to be replaced to accomodate the spare wheel ?

By the way the RFT's are giving a harder ride than our old E53 with normal tyres. :(

here you are:

Incidentally, I find the ride on RFTs on the E70 way better than the E53.

Thanks StumpyPete. I know of this but in the diagram it looks like a large area for the spare wheel there.
In the car that I have, when I lift the luguage compartment floor I do not have this area to put a spare wheel.
I have a compartment near the boot door for some tools and for the tow bar and behind that towards the seats there is like a shallow storage bucket area.
I guess my question was do I have to replace all these storage areas with some storage are that will take the spare wheel.

Do you have 3rd row seats? it won't fit in the back if you have 3rd row seats. you could carry a tire repair kit instead and have a spare wheel at home.

Hi StockGuru. No the car does not have the third row seats.
When I order the kit I could ask them If there is something else I need to order with it.

Mine didnt came with the third row option and spare tire.
After I upgraded to non RFT 20's dealer retrofit the the spare tire kit.
BTW ride is more comfortable with regular 20's than 18 RFT.

Thanks Galion,
Unfortunately I cannot see the picture. Work computer is blocking it for some reason. I will check it out when I get home.

I haven't driven the car much yet but first immpresion was that the ride was harder with RFTs. However in the old car the children were often sick after 20-30 minutes especially if we set off after a meal. They haven't been sick in this so far which is good. Not looking forward to cleaning beige leather splattered in sick. :(

XCing,

If you remove the bucket area shape carpet, you should see the empty sapce to put spare emergency wheel like Gailon's picture above. The bucket is there to make the compartment looks cleaner whithout the spare wheel.

Great, thanks. That's all I needed to know. So it's an easy retrofit.
