I'm still very new to this forum and completely new to the E70.

Here is my old E53. She's Gone. I miss her. :(
I did manage to do some basic work on it thanks to this forum (pixel fix, replace sway bars, final stage resistor replaced). Thanks guys....and gals !!

Welcome to the club. I too made the move from E53 to E70. I don't think you'll miss your E53 for long. What do you think of the difference in handling?

Congrats.

Very nice. Congratulations!

XCinq 05-18-2009 10:39 AM

Thanks. This forum is great.

I haven't had chance to drive the new car much but it feels more solid an smoother than the old. I guess that's expected as there is a five year difference between the cars.
The RFTs seem to me to give a slightly harder ride but I guess you get used to that. The old car had Diamaris tyres on it which were great.
The steering feels firmer but I like it.
Sat Navs wonderfull. The Tom Tom stuck on the windscreen of the old car used to fly off every trime I went round a corner. I wont miss that!

Oh..sorry...I appear to have attached the photos twice. As I said...I'm stll new to this.

x5 E53 > E70 :D

IMO.

but nice car. i like the e70 too, just not as much as the e53...

XCinq 05-18-2009 12:17 PM

Thanks guys.

I did like the old E53. I did briefly consider ( very briefly) the Audi Q7 and the Merc ML....but nothing beats the X5.

I really like this color:thumbup:
I ordered mine in this color too but the misses made me change it...
You hardly ever see an X5 in this color so it's quite exclusive
I've been told that only a handfull has been sold so far here in Belgium:dunno:

Nice color! i considered this color for awhile but the dealer told us the trade-in value will be lower than the grey's, silver or black's, so we decided to play safe since this is a private car. But congrats and enjoy!

Thanks. As we bought the car used we did not have choice of colours. The car was chosen because of the price and that it had done just 12,000 km. So still very new and a saving of about 18K euros.
I prefer the silver and white actually looks very nice on the road especially with aero kit. Here there are so many black, grey and silver cars.
It's true it may not get good trade-in value...but then we got very little for our silver E53. I guess when it comes to trade-in we will get very little whatever the colour. :(
The colour looks good in the evening when it has a darker tone to it and complements the beige interior.

I went from the E53 to the E70 as well. They do handle differently but both are awsome cars and I love to drive either one. BTW, what color is that? I can't tell from the picture. Is it something only available in Europe?

It's called Platinum Bronze. You do have it in the US too although it actually looks a bit darker than what the BMW website shows.

It's the third colour in the choice in this link...

BMW North America=

Nice color. I just got an E70 myself. I had a choice to trade either my E320 or the E53. I couldn't let go of my 53:D
