HUD and cruise control

Recently purchased a new X5 with HUD(Head Up Display), we had a demo 530 with HUD for a few weeks before hand while waiting for X5. I noticed that the 530 HUD showed the cruise control speed still in red (if I remember correctly) if you temp disabled it via breaking or simply temp manually turned off via stalk. The new X5 does not seem to do this. It was a great feature as it showed what your cruise control is set for before pressing the resume button again.
Can someone tell me what there HUD does on your X5 when you temp disable cruise. Does it blank out completely of still show what speed it was previously set at in red.

Keeps it showing unless the cruise is fully cancelled on the stalk.

I don't even know how you "temporarily" cancel the cruise ctrl with the stalk- when i hit the break, the HUD does not show anything

Shouldn't do that. When you hit the brake the cruise should turn off, the speed should remain on display in the HUD and a simple push of the button on the stalk in will take it back to the previously set speed which is still showing in the HUD.

Well that's what mine does anyway!

What month and year is your e70 X5?
Do you know what version of Idrive software you have?
Your help is apprecitated as the way you explained it was how the 525 we test drove did it and makes very good sense.

You can push to stalk either up or down to temp cancel the cruise.
