Space saver strut

i noticed my X5 loaner has this strut when i pull it up. mine doesn't have.

is that what you call space saver option that cost $150?

The Strut has been deleted in the new models.. like the manual sunroof tool...:rolleyes:

Ok some month in 2009 it was deleted there is a service bulletin about it..
