opinion on tint / oem tint

i just got my m sport 48i, need to tint windows but don't know what percent here are some ideas. My old x5 had no oem tint and i did 13% all round except the windshield (any thing less than 35 % illegal here)

1. 35% on front sides to match oem
2. 35% on front sides to match oem but very back windshield with 15%
3. 15% on all windows except windshield

I have the rear climate which added stock tint, anyone know how dark that is?

Any input would be appreciated and no i don't want too dark like limo tint.

I think OEM is around 40% for the rear

Down here almost any good shop can do a good job matching. rears will always be a little darker, but look at these pictures and you can barely tell. This is 35% all around and over rear privacy glass on my buddies and 20% all around on mine (white one).

Try Tint King in Fort Lauderdale, he does a great job, one piece rear window, great work. He did both of these jobs.

I myself prefer 35% all around as (a) the heat rejection difference between 35% and darker is not that great, and (b) I find the darker stuff a PIA for night driving.

xcellent on the gray x5 is that 35% over oem? and was yours over oem?
thanks yeah tint is pretty much needed in fl heat!

I would go with 20% or lower personally. I did 20% up front on mine, and then 30% over the factory privacy glass. Nice contrast, rear is a little darker but it blends well.

im pretty sure mine was 20% over factory tint/privacy glass and my buddy is 35% over factory tint/privacy glass

35% will be just right for SoCal weather. I'll be doing this in the future. Both X's look great.
