Can backup camera and PDC timing be adjusted?

I love my new X5, but really hate one feature:
-How long the backup camera and PDC stays on when I shift the car into drive. It delays the iDrive from being available and the beeping noises are irritating.

Can this be adjusted so the camera and PDC go off immediately after putting the car into drive?

Not that I know of, but you can just push the PDC button in the lower center console to turn it off (or on if you want camera & PDC while going forward at slow speeds, ie: getting into a tiny garage at an angle).

It' speed sensitive only or use the button.....

Think you can press the menu button on i-Drive can't you. Not in the car right now to try .... could be wrong.
