BMW NA's Wacky "Track Your BMW" feature

Has anyone gotten consistent/useful info from "Track Your BMW" on the BMW NA web site?

I ordered our X5 35d last Saturday. It took a couple of days for "Track Your BMW" to catchup to the details of the order. That was as I expected but...

On Monday the options were right and the colors were wrong.
On Tuesday AM the colors were right but no options were listed.
Later on Tuesday the colors were wrong again and the options missing.
Since Tuesday the colors have remained correct but the options vary from the complete list, the list minus the space saver spare (1st item in the list), to none i.e. completely non-existent --- every day!

IOW the info listed in "Track Your BMW" appears to be the luck of the draw at that particular time.

Frankly the options are not a worry but I am beginning to wonder whether ANY of the info provided by "Track Your BMW" is timely or trustworthy :(

I wouldn't worry. I had the same problems tracking my order. Just check with your CA to make sure all your options have been entered correctly. You can also call 1-800-831-1117 (Vehicle Production Status) for current status of production.

My 35d has been on order since last Thursday (8 days now). I have had the same experience w/ the tracking. It showed Jet Black until a few days ago (I ordered Black Sapphire). Also no space saver spare shown on the list, some days no list. I have faith in my salesman though - he showed me the order form that he submitted and all was correct. He told me that the website would be a little screwy.

I already sold my Cayenne (the day after I listed it) - so man, I am antsy!

Thanks AwesomeM3 and Full Speed. It's nice to know it's not just me :)

I guess my point is that a flaky "Track your BMW" web site feature is actually worse than none at all. It reflects poorly on BMW NA's capabilities and keeping track of things. After all how hard is it to keep providing the exact same info about colors and options once they have been set right one time.

FWIW as a lark, I've been checking a couple of times a day. For the3 last several days, I randomly get three different configurations: no options, all the options except the space saver spare and the full list with the correct options. This isn't the only part of this website that doesn't work properly. During the whole decision process of "Building" various configurations, the web site never once actually saved any of them between sign ins.

As I have already posted, I am not worried that the factory will build the wrong X5. My salesman has provided me with full info including screen dumps of what he sees.
