There are performance gloss OEM grilles for the X5 ....

Gloss black grilles weren't available for mine when I wanted black grilles, so rather than settle for matte black I painted my OEM ones. I do not like the matte black and am kinda mad that that's just about all that is available. I remember a couple years ago when looking for grilles for my old E36 there were matte, gloss, black chrome(gunmetal), regular chrome, carbon fiber, etc. all available. I ended up with black chrome/gunmetal and loved it.
