but is it possible to remove the old idrive and install the new one? on a 2009 x5

Did you try doing a search?? Everybody and their dog wants to know the same thing right now! Here are a couple more threads on the same topic! Let's everybody wait until the vehicles actually come out with the new controller...:throw:

but arent the M models comin with the new idrive? so it shouldnt be that long of a wait

Buy the new model...
