Is this normal (aero kit)
 

My (st)dealer is in the process of installing some accessories for me. I went by there a week ago and looked at the aero kit, painted and installed onto my car. I was excited to see it, but noticed some gaps and spaces. I was wondering if this is normal and if anyone has an aero kit, do they have the same gaps/spaces??

I dont think gaps and spaces was part of the design and engineering :confused:. Tell them to fix it and dont short change yourself:thumbup:

It's not part of the design but since it's plastic, it will have a gap as it's just a molded curve and connected with 1 screw toward the bottom there. Mine has a small gap on the left side but on the right side it is slightly larger. It has shifted over time. The only way to get rid of that is some adhesive and I don't think that's part of the normal install process. I tried pushing it inward and it's not something that would've been completely flush without adhesive.

Your install is still new so you can be picky (I wouldn't blame you) about it and bring it back.

As a reference, this is my left side from a year ago which I deem acceptable.

Thanks for the replies. I wonder if there is a difference in the Aero Kit spaces that is dealer installed as compared to the factory installed aero kit. :dunno:

There is no "factory installed" all aero kits are added in after. And there is a slight gap in mine as well - like rh71. I'd say its normal due to plastic variation. A thought might be to add a strip of doubles sided tape to pull it down and keep it seated, but its probably good for water run off etc..

When you order the aero kit, the parts catalog specifically mentions that these parts should be ordered in conjunction with an adhesive glue. There is also a part number for the adhesive. It looks like they didn't properly glue the parts together...

Yes it's normal to have the gaps and I ended up placing double sided tapes.

@King According to the pdf instruction, the only place the betalink adhesive is used is on the front center piece, but yes, you can probably end up using it on the rear piece as well.

I just installed my own aero kit this past weekend, and i too had the slim gaps, and was a little under whelmed at the seeing the gap and had considered using the betalink adhesive to close it.
