3rd row seats Q&A

I've searched through the forums and the web and think I know the answers to these, but if others can confirm that would be great.

I'm actually not interested in the 3rd row, but I need the 2nd row to fold completely flat which I do not believe they do unless you get the 3rd row option.

So here is what I think I know...

1) 2nd row seats won't fold completely flat unless you have the 3rd row option.

2) 3rd row option does not change your cargo space.

3) With the 3rd row option, you lose the ability to carry a spare.

4) With the 3rd row option, you gain about 300 lbs of weight.

5) With the 3rd row option, the 2nd row seat is different has additoinal flexibility of reclining as well as moving the seats forward.

Is anything incorrect? Did I miss any other key items?

With 3rd row, you have the seat belts that annoyingly gets in the way of the use of the retractable truck cover. There are clips that supposedly hold the belts out of the way, but the clips hold the belt out of the way 80% of the time. (At least from my experience)

Important point- with 3rd row seat you get self leveling suspension

Re the 3rd row seat belts and their retaining slots (when retracted back into the rear roofline), never had a problem with these staying in to keep them out of the way......

Just a personal note. With the 3rd row seats, the 2nd row seats feel become highly uncomfortable. They are stiffer and more upright with less cushion.

I believe all the facts are correct with another note that the storage space under the cargo is reduced because you lose the extra space around the spare which I throw my jumper cable, snow removal stuff etc.

Did anyone confirm this?

I have no need for a third row, but would like the seats to fold flat. How far from folding flat are the rear seats if you don't get the third row?

I thought I had read that early on but someone claimed it was false. *shrug*

Confirmed. The second row folds completely flat with the 3rd row seat option. Without it, I would guess it is around 175 degrees (vs 180 flat). I think they were able to accomplish this by having less cushion in the seat.

Self-leveling and 3rd row option

Isn't this the case w/3.0si and 3.0sd models only? I thought all 4.8i models come w/self-leveling as standard (at least in the U.S.). I could be wrong...
