Rear View Camera Top View?

Just wondering if anyone has found any photos of what the top view camera images look like.

If you google "BMW Top View" it will take you to a page on the international site with one or two pics.

There has been a retrofit kit for top view for the E70 available for a while...

So does the retrofit work with the older iDrive?

Thanks for the link and the attached photo. I saw that before, but really don't know what I'm seeing. The left side looks like a close-up view of a tow hitch. Is the right side of the screen the "top view"? What are we suppose to see from the top view?

I thought the 7 series had top view. Looked up the brochure and didn't see it. They did have side view (which I don't think is part of the X5 new equipment). But I saw this in the brochure. Is this top view (in my attached photo)?

^ seems relatively recent since it's for the M... then my next question would be - has anyone done it yet (even if X6) and what exactly was involved? Software upgrade needed too I'm sure - but will it require the new idrive?

mtech, that looks like the side view of the 7-series. Top view is new to bmw - they kind of sprung it on us along with the M announcement I think. Infiniti has had it for a while now but at least BMW caught on. It has cameras on the side mirrors looking downward in addition to the front of the vehicle so you're basically covered on all sides on one screen. I still don't know much about BMW's top view.

Yeah. I've seen the Inifiniti's on their website and was thinking it might be similar. But I was hoping someone knew of a photo for the BMW's version.

Infiniti's:

I guess the big question is whether these are just software and view improvements or is the actual quality of the camera improving. Night vision or low lighting pics of particular concern.
