Did you really get your wheels painted ferric grey or is that just brake dust?? Your chrome kidney grills really stand out in those pics. Maybe paint it black or even grey to match the wheels?? Might make it look a little more agressive...

Nope....that is real Ferric Grey BMW paint on those 214's. The kidney's (including chrome surrounds,) the upper/lower lattice and all emblems will also be Ferric Grey (I might do the X5 emblem on the rear in black chrome.) Then the door molding will be painted Space Grey to remove the "line" in the side.

When I asked the dealer if they had touch-up paint or even the paint code for ferric grey, he said they didn't have either. I was also hoping to get the paint code for the 215's in black, so I can get them powder coated the same as the BMW black...but again they were not able to find the paint code! He's usually pretty good, maybe he didn't know where to look??

I will get a hold of my SA and have him send me the color code chart.

Very Nice looking and tastefully done!

Ours is Space Gray too and I always wondered what the wheels would look like in gray and was just too lazy to Photoshop it! They look Great! :beerchug:

I had them stripped and painted, then clearcoated. I decided against the powdercoating based on chipping. If they chip or scratch, it a bitch to fix just that spot.

Your wheels look good however you do realize that painted wheels will chip or scratch a lot easier! Powder coating actually bakes on the paint, and it becomes like ceramic. Costs twice as much, and IF you do get some chips, yes they might be more difficult to blend in or touch up, but it should be several times more resistant to rock chips etc. than painting in the first place...
