My new X5 is here!
 

I just got the call; my BTO X5d has arrived and is at the detailer getting prettied up. I ordered it 6 weeks ago to this day; exactly the duration that was promised to me (though somehow it feels like it was twice that long). I should be getting in the driver's seat in about an hour. Just in time for my weekend trip to the beach to see Mom for her birthday. Will post pics of my new Black Sapphire friend once I snap some and download them.

I guess that delivery truck driver got lucky at the craps table in Vegas, decided to quit while he was ahead and mosey on up the Pacific NW afterall. Thankfully he didn't have to hock your X5 for diesel money home.;) I hope now you'll quit whining about how your X5 was built one day before ours and we've had ours for... gosh it seems like ages :yawn: :rolleyes:

p.s. the Trip Computer can be used to maintain a long range history of mileage, avg speed, time, etc. This frees up the normal car info for checking avg mileage, etc over shorter periods: e.g. mileage on the freeway at different speeds, in town, hilly terain, flat land, etc.

I had one of those for a loaner car a few months ago and it was sweet. I had to learn what gas stations near me sold diesel. Was great on gas.

Congrats! I got the diesel too. Have owned if for nearly three weeks. I am enjoying it more and more each day! Its like a freight train on wheels!! Oh wait, frieght trains do have wheels.....make that rocket propelled wheels....Anyway, you get the idea. The nicest vehicle I have owned to date. Enjoy your new ride!

Thanks all. I only logged about 6 miles on the odo tonight; too much to do at home before the weekend. It'll see about 300 miles this weekend though. I can't wait to spend some quality time with it; so far me likey. Pics next week. Diesel rules.

It was a really nice drive, thanks for asking. Hard to find much to fault in the X5d. Shaping up to be my best auto ever. My 2 year old loves it, too; with Disney playing in the back I can't hardly get her out of the car. Very happy with the purchase, except now the wife wants to trade in the VW GTI on a 335d. I love her, so who am I to say no?

I should get about 580 miles out of my 1st tank w/ mixed driving city + highway, and the motor is so much fun.

Pics tomorrow. I promise. My clients won't stop buying/selling houses! Nice to be able to pay for the new SAV but it doesn't give me much spare time to photograph it.
