Different temperature feeling from left and right air outlet

Hi guys,
This morning, when I park my X5 in the parking lot and stretch out my hand to the air outlet in the center dash, I found that the left outlet seems cooler than
the right outlet.

I don't have thermometer to measure the actual difference, but I swear I can feel the different. Of course the temperature setting of both sides are the same.
I set them to 23.5 C.

When I press the Maxi button, then both temperature setting become 16 C, the temperature difference is even more obvious.

Does anyone have similar experience? I wonder if I should take my X5 to dealer.

Sounds like one of two things.....the final stage resistor or the evaporator. You could have a small leak.....Phil

I would first check the Climate settings in iDrive. Go to Climate...Automatic Programs, and make sure that 4 blue bars are on both sides. You may need to adjust them to get maximum cool airflow. Likewise, you will need to change these as the outside temperature gets cooler.

I am having EXACTLY the same problem. Started a few days ago. I have checked everything in the climate menu in iDrive, but nothing has made even the slightest difference.

It will be a while before I can get to the dealer, but will post results when I do drop the car off. Good luck with yours, and let us know what happens should you take care of yours before mine.

I checked each setting to make suer no other factor causes the difference.
All settings are the same.

However, yesterday afternoon, when I got home, I took a digital thermometer to take the
temperature, it's 2.4 C on the right air outlet and 2.1 C on the left.

I don't think my skin can tell the 0.3 C, but I can truly feel it is different. I think with
the 0.3 C difference, BMW probably won't do anything for me.

Craig,
BMW technician told me that may be the valve between the air and the hat water pipe is malfunctioned. (I have not told him about the 0.3 C difference.) He wanted me
to take the car to him.

FYI!

Hard to believe 0.3 difference would be detectable, which makes me wonder if it might be a difference in air flow in terms of either speed or dispersion out of the vent. Have you looked closely at the vanes in the vents to make sure one isn't stuck closed or something?

I have a digital thermometer so I can take the temperature so precisely.

I use my flash light to see through the grill, I don't see anything different
between left and right outlet.

I might agree with you, Penguin, however, I don't know how to check the air flow are similar or equal. Do you have any suggestion to make this precisely?
