Sound quality variation from premium sound on '09 E70

i was just wondering about 2 things.

1. Does anyone know how to properly calibrate the equalizer on the premium sound system?

2. Whos the manufacturer?

I maybe wrong, but the premium sounds system in BMW is manufactured by D&M PSS. D&M is the parent company of Philips Sound System (PSS) and they own other brands like Boston Acoustics, Marants, Denon and McIntosh.
