Iphone 3GS not syncing all contacts
 

Not all my contacts appear in the IDrive after syncing. I have tried deleting the phone on the car and deleting the car from the Iphone and re-syncing but not all the contacts show up. I have about 2,500 contacts. I took the car to the dealer, they could not fix it and are trying to call BMW to find out if there is a limit on the number of contacts or is it a problem with the new IPhone 3gs. Apparently they had another person in last week with an X5 and the same problem with the new Iphone 3gs.

Anyone know a fix? I have a 2007 E70.

I think the reason is 2500 contacts . or its the Iphone 3gs

or some "bad" characters on your Contacts name...

:iagree:I have a contact in my iPhone 3G which has an apostrophe in the name. It doesn't show up in iDrive. I then removed the apostrophe, but still it doesn't show up.

O.K. Currently you can only have 1000 phone numbers downloaded from the Iphone to the Idrive. Note, that means phone numbers only, not contacts. So if you have a contact that has 3 phone numbers (home, work, cell) that takes up 3 spaces in the Idrive's 1000 total capacity.

BMW did say that they are working on a software update that should be released towards the end of the year that will increase the total phone number capacity to 1500.

I have a similar problem, in my case it is LG EnV3/Verizon. Not all contacts show up.

For example, contacts marked as I-C-E do not show up; contacts with pictures do not show up, and in some cases they dont show at all for no reason whatsoever...

I had these contacts copied over from my old phone by verizon sales rep, the previous phone was by Motorola, it is quite possible there are bad characters in the set, although some numbers I've just recently added myself, and they also dont show up. It is quite random at this point.... :(

I had that problem with my Nokia Arte, and it turned out, that i had some of my contacts saved on my sim card, and when i put all my contacts in to phone memory, it all worked out, so do you have a sim? try it.
