I had a friend with a 4.8 that something similar happened. It was their fuel pump.

..or id go back to the dealership and demand a new car!

gokudo_90 10-08-2009 09:17 AM

i dont want the car anymore the Q( what if it happens again ) isnt leaving my mind

fuel pump was a big problem on the e70 X5s. The dealer will know if it is broken or not...

shouldnt somebody sew them? i mean they put our lives in danger because of their neglegance

Newbie to this forum. We have a 09 X5 3.0i with just over 10k miles. This past weekend, my wife and a friend went out. When they came back to the car, it would not start. I went to where they were at and tried it myself and it just would not start. We had to have the car towed and is still with the dealer. Do you think this could be the fuel pump too?

You're being a bit overly dramatic. You didn't even have an accident yet you "almost died twice"? If you ever drove in NYC you'ld almost die every 3 seconds by your criteria.

Take the car to the dealer. Have them check it out. If you don't have any confidence in the car, sell it.

since when?

killcrap 10-13-2009 10:44 AM

since ive replaced like 50 of them already? some with 4000 miles to up to 8000 miles on them. they have problems. the 4.8's have thottle connector problems. replacing the wiring harness wont fix it, you have to replace the throttle connector with the repair kit.

gokudo_90 10-13-2009 03:52 PM

back with the news
they ordered me a new x5 2010 no additional cost

No, I was saying you were being overly dramatic and to take it to the dealer to have them check the car. Pretty clear I thought.

Service Advisor called my wife this AM and you are right. They are going to replace the fuel pump but are just waiting for the part to get here. I could not believe this will go bad quickly. We just had the car for 8 months.
