Production week 45
 

Ordered my 35d on September 9, and, according to my sales guy today, production is scheduled for Week 45 (which by my calc would be week of November 7). I'm glad to have this nailed down, but that does seem to be quite the delay - :dunno:

It is quite the delay. I placed the order on 9/8 and it's already finished. It is supposed to be at the dealer this week. BTW, mine is 4.8i though.

It all depends on the state of the dealer's allocations. More often than not, when someone orders a vehicle, they don't enter a new order, but take an existing, in-process order that was destined for dealer inventory, with a general mix of options, and modify the order to match your desired options/colors. And it depends where that existing order is in the process when they modify it to match your requirements.

It sounds like you might have been a "new order," or the dealer had already sold his earlier in-process allocations to other customers and you got a later allocation.

Sounds about right. I ordered on 8/31/09 and was estimated production as week 44.

I ordered mine 8/30, told my sales guy I wasn't in a hurry and that November would be just fine, and mine was finished last week.

I wouldn't worry. Lots of folks on this forum ordered at about the same time and their X5s are already built --- BUT they can't touch them yet. They're in limbo waiting on a blessing. Yours will probably show up at the dealer pretty soon after theirs do.

BTW in the next few days we are either going to be reading joyous posts of new 2010 35d owners who finally took delivery or wailing a gnashing of teeth by those forming a lynch mob to storm BMW NA head quarters looking for blood or both :yikes:

From day of actual production start to east coast dealer lot on average about 14 days? (EPA garbage aside)

I ordered mine Sept 15 and BMWNA says mine is scheduled for week 46 which he stated was the 1st week of November.

Any thoughts on time from production start to delivery at dealer on east coast for an X5d, EPA issue aside?

That sounds awfully quick. What are you basing this on?
