How late "in production" can I amend my order?

I am scheduled for production to start Week 45 (Nov 2nd) and end by Nov 6th (according to 800#)... is it too late to add Comfort Access?

I already emailed my CA with subject "urgent"..

Thanks.

As far as I know you can only change it when it's in ordered status, You can't change it once it goes to scheduled for production status. I think you might have missed that boat. Good luck.

Well, i wont be upset if i missed the boat.. i wasn't planning on getting it because my brother wasn't too happy with it, especially due to long "boot" time on his 2008 when he opens the door by pulling the handle vs using the key 15 seconds ahead of time. I did sit in my friend's 2010 Diesel last night and noticed that this issue was resolved and boot time is instant. The new iDrive rules..

I'll learn my fate tomorrow morning.

I suspect BMW will accept your change request and sacrifice by taking your extra $1000. Just a hunch, of course. :nanana:

I believe once it goes into production, thats it. Unchangeable.

That's too bad. I really like the comfort access but you can live without it.

I never wanted it in the first place.. mainly because my bro is not too happy with it on his 2008 X5... he says it takes too long for the iDrive system to boot if he uses CA vs opening the car using the key 15 seconds ahead of time.

now that this problem is solved with the new iDrive, i dont mind having it.. but it's ok.. $1000 richer is good too :)
