Brake Dust...

Has anyone noticed any brake dust improvement on 2009 or 2010s? I heard rumors (don't recall where) that BMW was listening to complaints about brake dust..

if no improvement, i am going with these babies..

I picked up my car last week and there is no improvement. I noticed a decent amount of brake dust after only 75 miles or so (lots of city driving, though).

Another 30 or so miles on the car today; wheels are almost black... Time for a cleaning.

Just received those pads from Zeckhausen to. Haven't had time to change them yet though as I'm waiting for when I install the winter wheels/tires. Sick and tired of the brake dust on the 214's. The brake dust on these cars is the worst I have ever experienced in a BMW.:(

Yeah, I cleaned and polished my stock 210 wheels today... I love them. They are the easiest wheels to clean and polish I have ever had! And they look OK as well.

The 214's do look really nice, but I sure was glad today that it was the 210's in front of my wheel wax rag!

I wash my 214's once a week. I find using a wheel wax every couple of months makes maintaining the wheels easier.

I had Carbotech make me there ceramic bonded pads, can drive for weeks before I need to clean the wheels. Stops the same as oem pads!

same here nearly once a week... you just get used to it. Just like wiping off the soot from the rear aero kit. ;)

I'm going to use a product called Nanolex Rim Sealant on my new rims prior to putting them on .. it's sposed to be the bees knees to allow brake dust to be removed easily...

I tried spraying Rain-x on the wheels. They still collected dust but seemed to clean off much easier.:dunno:

No improvements at all, and I should know. I owned an '03 e53, and now own an '08 e70.

You want BMW brakes, you must deal with BMW brake dust.

great story. glad all turned out ok. according to Dave at Zeckhausen racing, the pads I bought have identical grip as bmw pads... i trust the man, this is 5th set of pads i am buying from him for various vehicles.

BMW pads are rotors are soft for such reasons...
Have ran low dust pads from Zeck, and while the dust is considerably lower than OEM, I did not like how the pads were when cold IMO. YMMV and given the options again....I'm back onto dusty dirty pads...
