Delivery process question

On the day of delivery, how long does it usually take for all the paperwork to get done and you can drive off the lot? With my past car purchases, it was at least two hours. My wife just delivered our second child. So, time is of the essence.....I can't be at the dealers too long.

When I placed my order, I went ahead and filled out the credit application already to speed up the process. How long do you guys think it'll take?

tell your advisor you dont need any training on the features and just want to sign and drive.. should take 20-30 mins at most if not less

I just did my paperwork today and it took about an hour. I did not take delivery though, so allow time for them to go over the vehicle with you. I'd say two hours is about right.

I guess I'll tell them to just go over the important stuff with me. I'm sure I can figure out the rest myself. I've already skimmed through the manual that I downloaded....yes, I'm a nerd!:nanana:

Hopefully, I can be out within an hour.

I always go over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb - make sure any issues are brought up, paint scratces etc. I make sure they write a We Owe You slip for anything not with the vehicle that was missing.

oh definitely. i may skip over the part where they show you the car's features. but, i would definitely look over the car very carefully.

yea, that's the biggest thing.. everything else is minor.

Have the SA to prepare all documentations ready when you are coming in. We were in and out of the dealer less than one hour when we took a delivery on our X5.

the longest thing was the paperwork / finances - they sent me to someone else in there to do that. Going over the vehicle took 20 minutes because I told him he didn't have to explain everything - they were just concerned that you'd rate them a 5 in that category and I was fine with that. I'd say an hour.
