13.6, baby! Woohoo!! :D

Hey, I love my car. I knew it'd be a gas guzzler, and I know I'm a lead foot. I did not buy the car under any illusions of getting decent gas mileage. I'd never trade my 4.8 for the 35d.

Lately about 14.5 MPG with all local driving. I will definately look at diesel next time, but love the 4.8 for now.

happy with my 4.8....wouldn't even trade it for an M.

Gotta pay to play

E36M3 -> 17 mpg
C32 AMG -> 16 mpg
E70 4.8 -> 13.2-14.2 (under 10K so still sorting out the truck)

Maybe my next vehicle should be a tank so I can calculate gpm (gallon/mile):yikes:

I wouldn't consider a V8, if I was even remotely concerned about mileage. Let alone a car that sucks premium, like a sailor on a shore leave.

I get 21.4 city on my X5 35d :thumbup:

I average 15.2...

I have the 35d with Adaptive Drive, which is the identical suspension package offered on the 4.8 sports M.

My 35d handles identically to the Sports M. To me it has a faster 0-30 mph. time. Maybe it loses 0.5 second over the next 30-60 mph.

Who cares. I just drove above the 80mph Arizona Speed limited over 1,000 miles, gaining over 10,000 feet and averaged 23 miles per gallon.

I was averaging 24.5 miles per gallon, until I got tired during the last 50 miles and picked the pace up a bit.

There's nothing given up, save for the extra cost of the 19 or 20" wheels.

Get adaptive drive. The 4.8 is overrated in terms of its acceleration. If you can feel the difference, you're not driving similarly equipped vehicles.

Drive a 35d with adaptive drive and 19" wheels and a 4.8 with adaptive drive, and you'll notice the most imperceptible difference in acceleration.

The 35d is far more linear when accelerating from 80 to 100 mph and above, in my opinion, and again with adaptive drive it's just as stable. The only difference between the two vehicles (the sport M vs. the 35d) is the engine, when you've properly equipped the 35d.
