35d turbo lag...not

Moving from my 335i twin turbo with acceleration lag from a stop (issue is actually that it starts in 2nd gear), I can say there is no similar lag in the X5 35d. I/we wrote about this before and it was mentioned in USAToday's Healy column. I hope it does not become apparent after break in.

Nope, mine runs fine and I've had it since January 2nd...

good to hear - I'm still shocked BMWs, with what they are known for, have allowed any lag at all.

I;ve only had mine for 700 miles, but on occasion, I will get a lag/bit of a jerk starting off. But I suspect it has more to do with the transmission strategy than any turbo lag.

Yes, that's the transmission, not turbo lag...
