Rain Deflector

Is that true, my CA told me not to install this Side Window Rain Deflector Set(PN: 82 11 0 417 978), for some reason the windows wont completely closed. Pls advise. Thanks :dunno:

He doesn't know what he's talking about. I had them on my E53s, E70 and just installed them on my X6 yesterday. Never an issue with the windows not closing all the way.

your CA is partially correct -- In the beginning, it'll take a few tries for the windows to close w/o automatically rolling down and there will be be some room (3mm or so) to push them up further, however they will be closed and wont cause any wind noise. In a few days, the deflectors will set in and window will close all the way w/o any issues whatsoever.

After the install yesterday, I was told not to open the windows for 24 hours. I just did for the first time, no issues.

They allow you to open the window slightly in the rain without getting wet. I've had them on 7 cars so far. I swear by them.

Never had a need for them w/BMW or MB. The front windshield gasket is designed to carry the water over the roof.

IMHO, they are only important for smokers who want to open the window more than a crack.

I'm not too fond of the looks of them. Just my personal preference.
